A 19th Century Country House Letter Box. The walnut cased letter box with a concave edged top, within rounded moulds, surrounding the hatched surface, and thence the posting slot. The front opening forward and downward, with the original key and lock, the bevelled glass oval window surrounded by carved scrolling leaves. The edges of the front with rising overlapping leaf decoration. The base with a concave edge and rounded moulds, as per the top. Date c 1870. Height 9 inches, width 12 inches, depth 4 inches.Ref:
