An Early 19th Century Sewing and Work Box.
The box in red and gilt lacquer. The rectangular lid hinging open to an interior fitted with a variety of trays, compartments and lidded boxes. complete with a variety of sewing tools and equipment. The lower body with a locking pull out drawer, with a rising writing slope, and further trays. the body mounted with diamond shaped escutcheons, swan neck handles to the sides, lock and key.
Height 5 inches, width 16 1/2 inches, depth 10 inches.
