George III Mahogany Work Box

A George III mahogany work box, the bow fronted box with a wide crossband of burr wood to the lid, also with ebonized and satinwood stringing, the hinged lid opening to reveal a single compartment and a drawer to the frieze front with multiple divisions,the drawer with turned ivory knobs, lion mask handles to either side and standing on four gilt metal paw feet.

A good, clean, early box.
