A Large 19th Century Lignum Vitae String Box, String Barrel with a screw off lid. The domed lid centred by string spout, surrounded by stepped and concave banks, finished to the outer edge with a rounded rim. The cylindrical body resting on the unscrewing foot, finished with a concave mould profile. Height 6 1/2 inches, 16cm. Width 5 1/2 inches, 14cm. Depth 5 1/2 inches, 14cm. Date circa 1870.Ref:
