A large, 19th C lignum vitae string box, the lid with a half sconce string spout, ring turned screw off lid and rounded overhanging rim. The cylindrical body of the string box, resting on a spreading concave moulded foot - in very good condition and very good varigation of grain.
Good, early object which would look great on a gentleman's desk or in a library!
