A 19th Century Brass Door Stop, Door Porter. The loop handle in the form of a twisting serpent, above the rope twist shank. The shank finished to the bottom with a rounded and stepped socle, above the semi circular base, in four chamfered panels, finished to the top and bottom edges with twisting reeded decoration. The rear with cast iron loading conforming to the shape of the base. Date c 1850. Height 17 1/2 inches, width 4 3/4 inches, depth 2 1/4 inches.Ref: 21083
