19TH C LIONS PAW DOOR PORTER

A 19th Century Lions Paw Door Porter, Door Stop. The oval loop handle with a rope twist top, surrounded by scrolling leaves, which flow from the rising leaf decorated shank. The base cast as a lions paw, with claws showing, and 'hairy' knuckles. The rear lead loaded. Very nice patination. Date c 1840. Height 15 1/2 inches, width 4 1/2 inches, depth 3 1/2 inches.
