Candlesticks & Lighting, Silver >> PAIR OF 19TH C SILVER CANDLESTICKS

A Pair of 19th Century Silver Candlesticks. The candlesticks with lift out drip pans, the rims with re-entrant sides, and gadrooned decoration, the drip pans fitting within well detailed Corinthian capitals, resting on downward and outward tapering columns, decorated with hanging drapery of oak leaves and acorns folding around the columns. The columns finished with ring socles, before the square bases, with gadrooned caps and plinths (as per the drip pans), enclosing the concave bodies, decorated to the corners with scrolling palm leaves, and each side decorated with a classical vase resting on a 'temple' plinth. Very good detailing throughout. Hallmarked for Thomas Bradbury, London 1897. Height 13 inches, 33cm. Width 5 inches, 12.5cm. Depth 5 inches, 12.5cm.
