A Pair of Early 19th Century Brass Candlesticks, each with a dished, rounded rim and lift out drip pan. The candleholders of classical vase shape, with octagonal bowls decorated to the corners with rising leaves. The candle holders with waisted socles above rounded top columns, the shoulders decorated with radiating classical leaves. The columns tapering downward to tulip shaped bases with falling leaves, resting on spreading socles with scrolled leaf decoration between finely reeded collars. The bases spreading to an octagonal plinth, with flat leaves decorating each corner. Made with proper seamed construction and spun undersides. Date c 1800. Height 11 1/2 inches, width 5 1/2 inches, depth 5 1/2 inches.
