A Pair of Silver Candlesticks. Each candlestick with a stepped and scallop rim lift out drip pan, decorated with spreading leaves. The drip pans fitting within square and rounded base shaped candle holders, decorated with masks of maidens, from which issue scrolling leaves. The candle holders with ring socles, resting on square tapering stems, the panels filled with shells, from which hang hare bell garlands. the square bases spreading to a stepped and scallop shaped foot rim, the corners with spreading leaves, between panels of paterae enclosed with rising laurel leaves. Hallmarked for Charles Horner, Birmingham 1898. Height 6 inches, 15.5cm. Width 3 1/2 inches, 9cm. Depth 3 1/2 inches, 9cm.
