A George III Mahogany Stick Barometer. The rounded top above a silvered dial, marked for weather indication, barometric pressure and with a sliding cursor. The dial engraved for the maker 'SMITH, BATH'. THe exposed tube within a crossbanded body, laid with herring bone veneers, edged with ebony stringing. The bottom with a ringed, orb cistern cover. In complete and good working order. Date c 1790. Height 35 1/2 inches, width 4 1/4 inches, depth 3 1/2 inches.
