An 18th Century Delft Apothecary Jar.
The rounded rim, above a vertical collar, the body with rounded shoulders and base, with a waisted centre. The base with a small foot rim. The body painted with flowers and buds, flanked by birds with wings spread, beside flower topped rising flowers and hanging tassels. The tassels and flowers continued to the bottom of the blue scrolled reserve, which is centred to the bottom with a winged and toga clothed cherub. The reserve titled 'A PORTULACAE'.
