An 18th Century Delft Tobacco Jar. The tobacco jar with a brass cover, the spire finial over the domed body, with a ringed vertical rim. The cover fitting over the out swept rim of the jar. The rounded body sweeping to the slightly recessed foot. The jar decorated with a formal reserve, as two figures with feather head dress and skirts stand, leaning against vase topped columns, as they smoke long pipes, amongst tobacco barrels, and rolled tobacco leaves. The reserve titled for 'MARTINIEK'. Date circa 1760. Height 14 1/2 inches, 37cm. Width 8 3/4 inches, 22cm. Depth 8 3/4 inches, 22cm.
