18TH C DELFT VASE

An 18th Century Delft Baluster Shaped Vase. The raised collar with crescent cross and inverted crescent decoration above the body, whose shoulders are painted with scrolled and sweeping flowers emerging from a lattice centre. The main body panted with two birds, perched on a flowering bush, which emerges from a lattice scrolled fence. The flowers continue to the rear of the vase and join where a butterfly passes by. The body tapering downward and inward to a banded spreading foot. Height 7 ¾ inches, diameter 6 inches. Date c 1730
