18TH C DELFT VASE & COVER

An 18th Century Delft Polychrome Vase and Cover. The vase with a domed octagonal cover, the cover with an onion finial, and broad octagonal rim. The cover fitting within an octagonal raised collar, above rounded shoulders, sweeping inward to a waist, and thence tapering outward and following the octagonal shaping to a rounded foot rim. The whole vibrantly decorated in polychrome, with scenes of flowers in reserves. Date c 1740. Height 11 inches, diameter 6 inches.
