An 18th Century Delft Vase and Cover. The cover with a finial in the form of a cat sitting on a cushion, aboev the bell shaped octagonal and reeded body, spreading to a chamfered rim. The cover fitting within the raised collar of the vase. The octagonal reeded vase with rounded shoulders, above the rounded body, tapering to an outward chamfered foot rim. The cover and vase shoulders decorated with flower filled scrolled reserves, the body painted with flowers and foliage, amongst which exotic birds fly and perch. The lower body with scrolled leaf and flower reserves, with the foot rim decorated with downward facing darts. Date c 1750. Height 14 1/2 inches, 37cm. Width 7 1/2 inches, 18cm.
