Two 19th Century Meat Plates.
Each plate with a slightly dished rim, the rims decorated with wild roses, flower buds, and leaves, surrounding reserves decorated with scenes of China men in conversation in a garden, and other scenes of exotic birds perched by a tree.
The centre of the plates decorated with an oriental landscape scene, with a young boy, and man meeting beside a jardinière, with group of houses, and a lake beyond, across which a group of four people enjoy the day, whilst fishing. In the background, a lattice fenced bridge crosses the lake, with hills, and a castle.
The rear of each with comb back.
Larger plate, Height, 13inches. Width, 17inches
Smaller plate, Height, 11 ½ inches. Width, 15 inches
