BOLD 19TH C JUG

A 19th Century Jug. The mid 19th century Jug, with a broad spout, meeting the slightly bow profile rim, over an inward tapering neck, before the chamfered shoulders of the octagonal body. The main body tapering in larger, and then smaller panels to the foot rim. The whole with scrolling and interwoven foliate decoration to each panel, set against blue background, over a red/ocre base. The corners and edges with gilt line decoration, the gilt highlighting repeated to the raised relief scrolling leaf handle. Height 10 inches, 25cm. Width 9 inches 23cm. Depth 8 inches 20cm. Circa 1860
