An 18th Century Delft apothecary jar, the outward-shaped rim above a waisted neck and barrel -shaped body, finished to the bottom with a narrowed socle and circular foot. The body with a painted reserve of scrolled decoration topped by a pair of peacocks flanking a basket of flowers. The lower edge of the reserve with a winged cherub mask between swags. The title panel emerging from a mythical mask titled "UQ CITRINUM."
Height 7 1/4 inches; diameter 4 1/2 inches.
