An 18th Century Delft tobacco jar, the body with a small outward folded rim, over which an unusual tall swept brass cover fits. The ovoid body painted with a vibrant reserve of scrolled flowers and leaves, amongst which are arranged lattice, and geometric panels. The reserve topped with a vase of overflowing flowers, and the centre of the reserve titled "RAPPEE."
Height, including cover, 14 1/2 inches, without cover 10 1/2 inches ; diameter 8 3/4 inches.
