A Large Early 19th Century Coalport Mug, probably quart size. The cylindrical body painted with bands of rosettes to the top and the foot rim, within gilt edges, the bands enclosing and appealing oriental scene of China men and boys meeting beside a tea house, and in a garden. The background painted with further houses, with hills and trees in the background. The shaped handle with a thumb grip, the handle decorated dwith gilt leaves. Date c 1800. Height 5 1/2 inches, width 6 1/4 inches.
