An Early 19th Century Sauce Boat or Sauce Tureen.

The cover with a strawberry finial, the fruit wrapped in strawberry leaves, surrounded by wild flowers.  The navette shaped body with handles to either end, in the form of strawberry leaves in raised relief, surrounded by wild flowers growing from a rocky ground.  The body tapering to a socle and dished waved edge stand, likewise decorated and finished to the ends with raised relief strawberries and leaves. The underside with a foot rim and pattern number.

Date c 1820.

Height 6 1/4 inches, width 8 1/2 inches, depth 5 1/2 inches.
