A Large 17th Century Bellarmine Jar. The rim with reeded collar, above the outward tapering neck, and rounded fluted handle. The body spreading outward and thence tapering to the foot. The body impressed with sunburst motifs, the lower body slightly compressed on either side from lying in the kiln during firing. The whole in a 'stippled' salt glaze. Date c 1680.
