A Large 18th Century Apothecary Jar. The jar with a rounded and outswept rim, above waisted shoulders, before the cylindrical body, finished with a waisted band, spreading to the foot rim. The jar with an attractive scrolled reserve, topped by peacocks flanking a vase filled with fruits and flowers. The lower reserve centred by a cherub mask, from which drape clusters of fruits and leaves. Date circa 1740. Height 11 1/4 inches, 29cm. Diameter 8 1/2 inches, 22cm.Ref: 22983
