A Large, Late 18th Century, Caughley Jug.

The spout with a bacchanalian mask, fronting the tall collar.  The rounded body tapering to a spreading foot rim.  The body potted in relief with layer leaves, scrolling to the tops, and the whole decorated with oriental scenes of gardens, lakes, tea houses and pagodas.  The jug mounted with scroll embellished handle.

Date c 1790.

Height 12 3/4 inches, width 10 inches, depth 7 1/2 inches.
