A Large 18th Century Delft Apothecary Jar. 

The outswept rim above raised relief banded shoulders, and base, with a waisted socle, and circular spreading foot.  The body painted with a reserve, the scrolled edges of the reserve topped by a pair of peacocks flanking a basket of fruits and flowers.  Thie reserve titled ‘ROB:SAMBUBI’.  The bottom centre of the reserve with a winged cherub mask, between swags of fruit.


Height 11 ½ inches, diameter 8 inches.
