A Large 18th Century Delft Apothecary Jar. The outswept rim above the rounded shoulders, the body of straight cylindrical shape, with raised ring borders to the top and bottom. The jar standing on a waisted socle and downswept circular foot. The underside of the foot recessed, and with makers mark, AK. The body with a scrolled reserve, topped by a basket of fruit, toward which a pair of peacocks reach. The centre of the reserve titled, 'C. ROSARUM'. In very good condition throughout. Date c 1740. Height 10 inches, width 5 3/4 inches, depth 5 3/4 inches.
