A Large 19th Century Imari Centre Bowl, Punch Bowl. The slightly out curved rim above the body sweeping downward and inward to a raised foot rim. The outer of the bowl painted with trailing and twisting leaves, amongst which are set exotic birds spiralling in flight. The interior of the bowl decorated with reserves of pheasants and dragons, within lattice and rising flower backgrounds. The centre of the bowl with a radiating flower head decoration. The bowl is vividly coloured and has great 'presence'. Date c 1850. Height 6 inches, diameter 13 1/2 inches.Ref: 20608
