A Large Pair of 19th Century Vases. The vases of rounded bodies, tapering to a raised band, and thence the foot. The vases decorated with scrolling leaves and foliage, surrounding dolphins and griffins, rising to classical Egyptian maidens. The centre of the vases with medallions filled with classical maidens. The vases enclosed in mounts in the form of rope twist edged rims, surrounding a band of leaves. The vases mounted with substantial handles in the form of scrolled leaves, above which rise swags of leaves and buds. The vases standing on scrolled leaf bases, with reeded and scrolled toes. Height 16 inches, 41cm. Width 17 inches, 43cm. Depth 11 1/2 inches, 29cm. Date circa 1889.Ref: 21970
