A Large Pair of Ironstone Hydra Jugs. The octagonal bodies with a scalloped rim, and broad spout, above the tall vertical necks, spreading to sloping shoulders, thence outward to the body, which tapers back in to the foot. the jugs with Hydra handles, and the whole decorated in the Imari style, with colourful flowers and leaves, amongst vases. The undersides impressed 'Patent Ironstone China'. Date c1850. Height 9 1/2 inches, width 9 inches, depth 8 inches.Ref: 20944
