A pair of 19th Century Imari vases and covers, each with a dragon finial resting on an octagonal bell-shaped cover with broad rim. The vases of conforming octagonal baluster shape, tapering to a foot rim band. The lids and shoulders of the vases with reserves of flowers and blooms, the bodies decorated with garden scenes, trees, and houses. The lower bodies with reserves repeating the covers and shoulders. The whole with gilt highlighting.
H 14 1/4 inches; diameter 7 1/4 inches.
