A Pair of 19th Century Imari Vases and Covers. Each with a bell shaped cover topped by a Foo Dog finial, over the body, sweeping to a slightly chamfered rim. The cover with panels of flowers, and reserves of fierce Foo Dogs, the decoration repeated to the raised collar and shoulders of the vases. The vase tapering to a small proud foot rim. The bodies decorated with abundant flowers and foliage, against a scrolled flower background. Date circa 1850. Height 21 inches, 54cm. Diameter 12 inches, 31cm.
