A Set of Ten 18th Century Apothecary Jars. The jars in two sizes of five each. The jars each with a circular domed cover, topped by a flower bud finial, and edged with blue banding. The covers fitting over and within outward turned collars. above the baluster and waisted shaped bodies, with rising flutes forming vertical panels. The bodies sweeping into a waisted and thence spreading foot, with blue line banding, as per the covers. The bodies painted with intertwined laurel leaves forming a reserve, each carrying the title of the contents. Date circa 1760. Large: Height 8 1/4 inches, 21cm. Width 4 1/2 inches, 11.5cm. Depth 4 1/2 inches, 11.5cm. Small: Height 6 1/2 inches, 16.5cm. Width 3 3/4 inches, 9.5cm Depth 3 3/4 inches, 9.5cm.
