Two 19th Century Ironstone meat plates, each with an octagonal rim, with slightly re-entrant corners, surrounding the rounded octagonal centre. The rims decorated with chrysanthemums against a blue background, with further blooms and sprigs. The centres with scenes of a jardinière filled with rising flowers, the jardinière standing on a garden table. The table and jardinière set in a flower and bamboo garden. The rear of the plates combe-backed with “Mason’s Patent Ironstone China” crown and swag transfer mark, also impressed marks for “Mason’s Patent Ironstone China” and one with further marks for “Kay” “Albion House.”
Width 16 ½ inches; Depth 13 inches - larger plate.
Width 14 ½; Depth 11 inches – smaller plate.
