Two 19th Century Vases. Each with an outswept rim, over a waisted neck, and rounded shoulders, tapering toward and slightly spreading to a rounded foot rim. The neck and foot rim with fine gilt leaf bands, above the shoulders with reserves filled with flowers and blooms, amongst which birds flit. The background of the shoulders with lattice flower and leaf decoration. The bodies with decoration of flowers and shrubs, amongst which birds perch and hover whilst butterflies pass by. The lower bodies with vertical lattice banding, the whole in reds, ochre and gilt. Date circa 1870. Height 13 1/2 inches, 34cm. Diameter 7 1/2 inches, 19cm.
