A Very Large Late 18th / Early 19th Century Delft Vase. The tall body, slightly waisted to the centre, with vertical reed potting, the body painted with reserves of birds and butterflies swooping, above a tree in full bloom. The reserves separated by smaller reserves of an oriental garden, held between lattice and flower head backgrounds. The lower section of the body decorated with bands of flowers and scrolled leaves, as the vase tapers outward to a chamfered foot rim. Date c 1800. Height 17 inches, diameter 8 inches.Ref:
