19TH C NURSERY FIRE GUARD

A 19th Century Nursery Guard, Fire Guard. The guard with a rounded brass top, above an outward sliding brass drying rail. The fine mesh body supported by steel uprights, meeting the foot with an internal ash / spark plate. The sides mounted with hooks to attach the guard to the wall. Date circa 1860. Height 30 inches, 76cm. Width 46 inches, 117cm. Depth 12 inches, 31cm.
