A George III Oak Chest, the top with cleated side rails and rounded edges, opening to a lead lined interior.  The body with good exposed dovetail joints to each corner, the ends with substantial brass carrying handles, and the wole on a mould top plinth base.  The top mounted with an oval brass plate, engraved 'Books and document relating to the charity founded by John Park Esquire, deceased'. 

The chest finished to all sides, so could sit in the middle of a room, would make a very good centre, coffee table.
