A George I Chest. The early 18th century pine boarded chest, with a central top panel hinged, and opening to the interior. The ends with a pair of counter facing flanking panels, mounted with hobnail shaped pegs. The front of the chest decorated with a pair of mill wheel motifs, set within a star. The front panel likewise secured by hobnail form pegs. The whole raised up on the long slightly recessed side panels. Date c 1700. Height 21 1/2 inches, width 29 1/2 inches, depth 13 1/2 inches.Ref:
