A George III Wine Cooler. The 18th century mahogany wine cooler with a raised rounded mould rim, above the oval body, gently tapering inward and downward. The body coopered with brass banding, and mounted to either end with substantial lion mask ring handles. The cooler on the original stand, the oval conforming frieze with facing veneers, above the four tapering legs, finishing with brass cup castors. Date circa 1770. Height 19 1/2 inches, 49.5cm.
