An Early 19th Century Mahogany Wine Cooler. The wine cooler with a rounded overswept rim, above the body tapering inward and downward to a deeply reeded lower edge. The cooler raised up on carved lions paw feet, holding the recessed castors. The body of the cooler veneered with flame mahogany panels, the panels with re-entrant corners, the panels surrounded by radiating straight grain mahogany. The sides mounted with lion mask ring handles. The interior with the original lead lining. Height 21 1/2 inches, 55cm. Width 33 1/2 inches, 85cm. Depth 24 inches, 61cm. Date c 1830.Ref:
