A fabulous, 19th C, silver plated claret jug, the cut glass jug with broad fluting to the shoulders, oval fluting to the waist and hobnail decoration around the base,  the handle decorated in acanthus leaves and a beading down the central portion, the collar with an intricate and pierced decoration below a larger beading and with acanthus relief to either side, the hinged lid with further acanthus scrolls and a 'thumb press' foliate finial, the whole standing on a star cut base.
