A Pair of Good Regency Vases and Covers. Each with a cover, of bell shape, topped by an oval finial, decorated with a bank of fine hobnail cutting, above a fine band of disc cut decoration. The finial with spreading bases, with chamfer edges, spreading on to the bell shaped main cover, decorated with large oval disc panels, banded by wyvern twisting to the top, and broad fluted panels below. The lower rim with chamfered edges as per the finial base. The vases with oval panels above wyvern cut flutes, tapering to the ring socle, with broad flute base. The whole on a stepped square plinth base, the underside with ground pontil. Height 13 inches Diameter 5 ½ inches Date c 1820.Ref:
