A 19th century Milanese pear wood and ebonized mirror with a rectangular frame, edged with a rounded and concave stepped moulding. The facings finely inlaid within borders. The spandrals inlaid with griffons holding floral and fruit swags. The side inlaid with rising stems emerging from lions paw jardinières, to support baskets of flowers and fruits amongst scrolling leaves and swags. The top panel centred by a dove, alighting on leaves from which spread scrolling leaves, budding into flower head, and finished with mythical masks. The lower panel showing a pair of fierce mythical cats, standing in a large vase, from which sweep scrolling leaves finished with budding flowers, and mythical masks, as per the top panel. The frame finished with an inner rounded and stepped mould, holding the original plate. Complete with wood back board. Very finely inlaid. Date circa 1830. Height 12 inches, 31cm. Width 15 inches, 38cm. Depth 1 1/4 inches, 3cm.
