A Red and Gilt Lacquer Dressing Mirror.

The swing plate within a rectangular frame with an arcaded pediment.  The mirror held within shaped and turned column supports, resting on a two tier lower section, with a serpentine front.  The upper section with three frieze drawers, the lower section with one long drawer.  The mirror standing on four compressed bun feet, and the whole decorated in attractive red and gilt lacquer, depicting oriental gardens and tea houses amongst which China men admire the view.

Date c 1870.

Height 27 inches, width 14 inches, depth 7 inches.
