A Regency Gilt Convex Mirror.
The carved pediment in the form of an eagle alighting on a rocky outcrop. The eagle and rocks flanked by a pair of mythical sea beasts. The frame of the mirror with a moulded rim, surrounding a concave border set with corvette balls, and a stepped moulded inner edge. The original convex plate held within a reeded slip. The base of the mirror with carved leaf decoration, and the flanks of the frame with a pair of upward scrolled sconces, twisting toward the glass petal shaped drip pans and brass candle holders.
Date c 1820.
