An 18th Century Flint Lock Pistol. The pistol with a ringed muzzle, before the outward tapering screw off barrel, the underside proof marked twice. The flintlock mechanism holding on two stages and engraved with Roccoco leaves to the housing and further engraved for the maker 'KETLAND & CO'. The rounded trigger guard with flower head decoration, below the walnut and silver strung grip. The butt end with a grotesque mask mount cover. Height 5 1/4 inches, 13cm. Width 12 inches, 31cm. Depth 1 1/4 inches, 4cm. Date circa 1770.Ref: 22713
