An 18th Century Flintlock Blunderbuss. With a trumpet ended brass barrel. The barrel tapering toward a ringed and thence octagonal rear end. The barrel engraved with rising leaves proof marked and stamped 'DUBLIN'. The steel flint lock mechanism with scrolled floral decoration, and engraved for 'THOMPSON'. The well figured walnut stock finished with a ram rod, held within ringed brass pipes, a brass trigger guard and butt plate. Height 8 inches, width 30 1/2 inches, depth 3 inches. Date c 1780.Ref:
