An 18th Century Flintlock Blunderbuss. The substantial blunderbuss with a ringed and trumpet ended proof marked brass barrel, before the steel flint lock mechanism and housing. The housing engraved with hatched star burst, darted and leaf decoration. The housing engraved for the maker 'LANKESTER'. The brass spoon shaped trigger guard with floral decoration and a pineapple terminal. The stock and body folding the brass tipped ebony ram rod, held within ringed pipes, the stock finished with a brass shoulder plate. Date circa 1780. Height 8 3/4 inches, 22.5cm. Width 33 1/4 inches, 84.5cm. Depth 2 3/4 inches, 7cm.
