A 19th Century Travelling Chess Setm the folding mahogany case with a chequered board inlaid in rosewood and boxwood.  The compete set of chess pieces carved in bone.  The box with an ingenious locking system, to allow the game to be closed part way through and resumed latter, without losing the places of the chess pieces.  Brass screws and hinges and very nicely made.
